Here we go… The final update on what I’ve been calling “The PayPal Issue”.
I am officially away from PayPal as my payment processor. Not because my account was shut down. I still (at this time) have a PayPal account, but I’m choosing to walk away from them before they choose to walk away from ME!
Side Note: If you’ve missed what’s going on see my Facebook posts on the issues at…
I have a blog post where I sum these up at http://liztomey.com/blog/saying-goodbye-to-paypal
Okay on to the goods here…
I started this journey in April of 2019 and it’s now the middle of August 2019. Almost 4 months of research, reaching out to people, back and forths with merchant accounts, and the list goes on and on.
I kept hitting “walls” and I didn’t stop until I got through them. That’s how you have to be with EVERYTHING when it comes to creating an online business. You do everything you can to get through anything that tries to stop you from reaching your goals.
That’s not what this is about though so I’ll save my “Tony Robbins speech” for another day. 😉
This post is to help those of you who are looking to get away from PayPal and who are using JV Zoo and/or WarriorPlus as a vendor or as an affiliate.
First off, you’ve got to look at this from two different sides.
If you’re an affiliate and you want to get away from PayPal it’s pretty simple. A few settings and you’re done.
If you’re a vendor though there are a few things you need to do.
I want to talk about these things separately in this post to help your brain keep them separate. If not you’ll get super confused. I’m both an affiliate and a vendor and my biggest problem I had with understanding all of this was keeping those two things separate.
So let’s start with…
Getting Away From PayPal As An Affiliate Marketer On JVZoo and/or WarriorPlus
This was a WAY easier process for me compared to what I thought it would be.
With JVZoo you need to make sure you have a JV Zoo Pay account setup properly. When you want to promote a product make sure that the vendor is using JV Zoo Pay to pay you your commissions. This will be listed on the Affiliate Details Page where you get your affiliate link.
When you promote the product and make sales all commissions instantly go to your JV Zoo Pay account. You can then withdraw your commissions into your bank account or Payoneer account. You can also withdraw into your PayPal account, but the whole point of this is to get AWAY from PayPal. 🙂
I have my JV Zoo Pay account setup so that when I have $500 in commissions they are automatically deposited into my bank account.
A little note here… Some vendors use Stripe to process their payments on JV Zoo. They have to pay you manually. This will be noted on the Affiliate Details Page too. (See the second circle above.) I ONLY promote vendors I personally know if they are going this route. I don’t like having to figure out who owes me money with affiliate programs. That’s why my main rule with promoting something on JV Zoo is that if they aren’t paying via JV Zoo Pay I’m not promoting their product.
Here’s the short of it… The only way you can get your commissions into your JV Zoo Pay account is if the vendor processes payments via PayPal or Bluesnap (which is a merchant account). You then withdraw your commissions in your chosen way. To your bank account or Payoneer account.
Now with Warrior Plus it’s simply going in and changing a setting in your account so everything is sent to your Warrior Plus Wallet. Then you can withdraw into your bank account. Again you can also withdraw into your PayPal account, but uh… We’re getting away from PayPal here. 🙂
The setting for this is hard to find…
Upper right hand corner from the drop down menu select My Account, then Merchant Accounts, then go to Settings and turn ON Force Wallet (Affiliate/Partner).
I can withdraw my available affiliate commissions from my Warrior Plus Wallet into my bank account.
So that has me totally away from PayPal being an affiliate on Warrior Plus and JV Zoo.
Now for those of you who are vendors. Hang on to your hats! 🙂
Getting Away From PayPal As A Vendor On JVZoo and/or WarriorPlus
Again, we will start with JV Zoo.
Your options with JV Zoo are to get a merchant account with Bluesnap or Stripe in order to get away from PayPal.
Stripe doesn’t work with JV Zoo Pay though so you have to manually pay your affiliates. I’m not willing to do that. I want to automatically pay my affiliates.
So, I am using Bluesnap so commissions are automatically put into the JV Zoo Pay accounts of my affiliates. I really wish I could use Stripe over here. I DO like it better than Bluesnap. I get my money quicker and the reporting is better.
When the customer buys via a JVZoo button, Bluesnap and JVZoo work together (with some unicorn magic or technology or whatever) and put the affiliate’s commission into THEIR JVZoo Pay account, gives JVZoo their fees, and leaves my profits in my Bluesnap account.
This is all done automatically…
Note: See JVZoo’s documentation on selling on their platform at https://jvzoo.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/categories/200334067-Sellers
No money comes into my PayPal account. It’s all processed by Bluesnap and they automatically deposit my profits into my bank account.
Once you have your Bluesnap account setup and your JV Zoo Pay account then when you setup a product you simply select Bluesnap to process your payments and to pay affiliates with JV Zoo Pay.
So make sure that you get the accounts setup before setting up your product. The initial account setups is what takes the most time. Once you have them setup you just select what you want to use to process payments when you create products moving forward.
On the vendor side of Warrior Plus…
They only allow you to process payments through PayPal or Stripe. Bluesnap isn’t an option over there.
Over there I’m processing payments with Stripe and affiliate commissions are paid into the affiliates Warrior Plus Wallet. Then they can withdraw in their chosen way.
Like with JV Zoo you have to get your accounts setup. I had to setup my Stripe account in there, and then when I setup the product I have to select that I’m processing via Stripe.
So when a customer purchases through a Warrior Plus button Stripe and Warrior Plus work together (again with unicorn magic I think) and aput the affiliate’s commission into THEIR Warrior Plus Wallet, gives Warrior Plus their fees, and leaves my profits in my Stripe account.
Stripe deposits my profits into my bank account daily.
And again… This is all done automatically.
Note: See Warrior Plus’s documentation on selling on their platform at https://help.warriorplus.com/en/collections/170745-selling-on-warriorplus
The big take away here with BOTH of these is that you have to get your “processing” accounts setup first, and then when you setup your product to get your buy buttons is when you select what you use to process payments and pay affiliate commissions.
The Wrap Up
I have now done FOUR launches using BOTH JVZoo and WarriorPlus and many have asked me which one I prefer.
Warrior Plus or JVZoo?
I’ve thought long and hard about what I would say here, and even if I would even say anything at all.
Well it goes back to the old saying…
“You don’t poo where you eat.”
I no longer “eat” at PayPal so I’ll “poo” all over them. I wont however speak ill of either JV Zoo or Warrior Plus because I “eat” at both of these places. Both have their pros and cons.
Let me say that one more time…
Both. Have. Their. Pros. And. Cons.
Like I hate how “clunky” and confusing WarriorPlus can be.
I also hate that I can’t easily tell who pays how and what without some digging on JV Zoo.
I do have a favorite and it’s JVZoo.
There are many reasons and some of those reasons I wont discuss. 😉
Both have their pros/cons (as I said), but what makes me say JVZoo is hands down the best is…
1. I personally know the CEO of JVZoo. Laura Cassleman!
NEVER has a CEO ever reached out to me personally to help me with my business. Laura cares about her JVZoo affiliates and it shows. Not only did she go to battle for me with issues with merchant accounts, but has done so for others. Laura is a shining example of what a true CEO is. I can’t thank her enough for her help through all of this.
2. The Support team is phenomenal.
I also know several people from the support team personally. 🙂
JVZoo has a support desk and a Facebook group. I think I used the support desk a very long time ago, but I always use the Facebook group and have an answer within 24 hours to my endless questions. Usually in MOMENTS! That’s important when you’re trying to get a product launched. I need answers and solutions NOW and I get them.
3. It’s easier to use.
As a vendor the JV Zoo system is easier to use in my opinion.
Once you have your merchant account and you’ve gone through all the settings to get it hooked up, using JVZoo to get your funnel setup is easier to use than Warrior Plus. Maybe that’s because I’ve used them for so many years and just get their system or maybe it’s because it is in fact just easier to use. *shrugs*
What I do like about Warrior Plus BETTER though is that I can use Stripe over there and it automatically pays my affiliates over there into their wallets. I like Stripe better than Bluesnap. From the ease of using it to the reports to them paying out faster than Bluesnap. I just like Stripe better.
So there you go… That’s how I’ve gotten away from using PayPal as an affiliate and a vendor on both JVZoo and WarriorPlus.
It’s been a heck of a journey, but I’m really liking running my business without the fear of losing my PayPal account.Putting all your eggs in one basket is a HORRIBLE idea. I should have NEVER had only one way to accept payments, and I'll never do that again.Click To Tweet
I currently have 4 ways to take payments. PayPal (I refuse to use that one though) , Bluesnap, Stripe, and Cash App.
Cash App? What, Liz?
I’ll be talking about that one in the future. 😉
My next one I’m looking to use is ClickBank, but that probably wont happen until early 2020, so stay tuned.
Until then… Thoughts? Opinions? Questions? Feedback? Let me know in the comments below…
After years using PayPal with many different platforms (JVZoo, Warrior+, Zaxxa, RAP, PayDotCom, etc) I’m moving away from using them as a payment processor.
I will still be using JVZoo and Warrior+ as my selling platforms, but I’ll be processing through a merchant account now.
That’s not going to change many things for you. You’ll still access your downloads from me the way you always have through the platform you purchase from me, but you’ll just not be able to use PayPal to pay me any longer.
If you have a PayPal debit card you will be, but from here on out I’ll be using a merchant account to process my payments.
Simply because using PayPal has become a risk.
Many people are having their PayPal accounts shut-down and no one knows a REAL reason. PayPal is the “money-God” and can do whatever they want. It’s all in their TOS.
At this moment I still DO have a PayPal account, I’m just being proactive and moving away from them on MY terms. 🙂
I started talking about this a few months ago on Facebook and what I was doing to make these changes.
If you’re not a Facebook friend, I’m currently at my 5000 friend limit, but you can follow on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000399258867
I’ve made TWO posts about my move away from PayPal and they are below…
I will be showing my tribe how to do the same thing if they choose to do so.
The first thing you need to do is if you’re an affiliate is get everything to where you’re being paid by check or direct deposit. I’ve already begun that process and the main networks I use to get my affiliate links (JVZoo and Warrior+) was a pretty simple process.
If you’re a vendor (a product seller) it’s a little bit more tricky. I’ve ALMOST got the process done on JVZoo, and the process has been completed for W+. It’s honestly easier with Warrior+, but I prefer to sell on JVZoo because I personally know the people behind it and the service there has been amazing.
I’ll keep you guys up to date on everything once I have it all in order. I’ll be doing a video showing the process for each of the main networks I work with (JVZoo and Warrior+), and also my journey on to a new network in the coming months.
But as I said… The important thing to know is not much will change on your end. I’m just being smart and proactive and setting up multiple ways to take payments online as EVERY business should do.
If you have any questions and want to talk about this make sure you’re in the Team Tomey Facebook group where we talk about these kinds of things. 🙂
Well it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted here on the Liz Tomey blog. For the last few years I haven’t known what I’ve wanted to do with this blog and it’s just become a place for updates every few months. I’ve got a good idea what I want to do with it now. It’s basically going to become an “umbrella” for ALL of my brands. You’ll be able to see what’s going on with all of my brands from one spot. 🙂
The last part of 2018 I was completely focused on building the MyPassiveIncomeCoach.com brand while phasing out everything else in my business where I’m teaching about online business development and marketing. It’s still my #1 thing, but there are also other things I’d like to teach you outside of online business. Things that will help you live a healthy and happy life too. It’s not all just about getting wealthy. It’s our biggest priority, but it’s not EVERYTHING.
So right before Christmas I got side tracked bad with the direction I wanted to go beyond the MyPassiveIncomeCoach.com brand which put me “down the rabbit hole” and then a list of very unfortunate events happened that pushed me further and further down the hole until I was completely lost.
The first part of 2019 has been devastating to say the least…
Over the last several weeks of my life I’ve been through more changes and had more things laid on top of me than I could bare. I needed to step back and take a few weeks just to process the things that have happened and are currently happening to me. I can’t and wont go into detail because these things are way too personal and traumatic at this point and I just can’t be as publicly open about it as I want to do be. I will in time because there are a lot of lessons in what is happening, but for now I ask that you be patient with me as I return back to “the land of the living” and get back to life.
My first order of business is getting caught up on emails, help desk messages, and Facebook messenger messages.
*** Please note that if you’re trying to contact me through Facebook messenger it could be weeks before you hear from me. I get way too many messages there to ever be able to keep up. The helpdesk at LizLive.com is always the best way to contact me.
The next order of business will be getting with my Resellers Passive Profits Workshop attendees and getting that workshop all wrapped up. I dropped the ball there, but will be finishing that up and getting everyone back on track.
And finally I will be stripping my business down again and we will only be talking about ways to make passive income and ways to market your passive income streams. Moving forward that is what I will be specializing in helping you in because I truly believe creating passive income streams is the best way to get wealthy and still be able to enjoy your life.
If you go to LizTomeysProducts.com you’ll see I’ve removed just about everything from my product line. I’ll be adding the passive income workshops I’ve done there, but for right now I’ve removed just about everything else.
So let’s get back to life…
I so appreciate everyone who has reached out to check on me. I’m making it fine and will bounce back. The great thing about my life is that I’m finally to a point where I have developed the life skills needed to bounce back from even the darkest things that happen to us. Stuff like this used to take me months and months to recover from. Now in just a few weeks I’m strong enough to keep moving forward. I’ll let that be my “win” for now.
I’ve got a lot of exciting stuff planned for 2019 for all of us, so stay tuned because it’s only going to get better from here.
Thanks for always being on my side. Much love to you! <3 <3 <3
Wow! What a crazy few weeks it’s been. Life hit me at 1000 mph and I need to give everyone a massive update, so everyone knows I’m ok and I am in fact alive. 🙂
As many of you know I moved to Venice, FL about 2-3 years ago. It had been a dream of mine since I was 5 years old. My mom and I (before she passed away) always said we’d move as soon as she could retire. Unfortunately she never made it to retirement so me moving there was achieving a goal for BOTH of us. 🙂
It was a huge deal and it was like me starting my life over after my divorce and losing my mom. I needed the move so bad after all of that!
If you’re my Facebook friend you’ve seen hundreds of pictures of the beach there, the AMAZIng sunsets, me working at th beach, etc. It was evident I had found my paradise.
My amazing son was supposed to move with me and decided he wanted to wait for his 9th grade year to move with me. Then he decided he wanted to wait another year.
Well long story short he decided he didn’t want to move to FL… AT ALL!
The traveling back and forth to see him all the time got too much for me and him both and he finally told me he didn’t want to move to FL and wanted me to move back to Chattanooga, TN.
I don’t know how many of you are parents, but when it comes to breaking your heart or your child’s heart you always choose YOUR heart.
And that’s what I did…
I completely and totally broke my own heart, packed up everything, left a 2 year relationship, and moved back to Chattanooga, TN. My good ol’ hometown that I love to hate.
I do love this place, but I do feel like my dream of living happily ever after in FL was ripped from me. Yes of course in just a few years when he goes to college I can move back and that’s truly my only sanity in all of this. 🙂
So it took me a few weeks to adjust and get into the groove of things. I took a small step back from business so I could breath.
I’ve spent a lot of time with my kid of course, but also a lot of time on my bike, up in the mountains doing some meditation, and in River Park here which is where my mom worked for 25+ years. She did all the landscaping there so I can go and look at all the trees, plants, and flowers she planted and feel close to her. It’s a magical place.
I’ve done all the things I needed to do to heal and come back stronger than ever as I start yet another chapter of my life.
I appreciate your patience and understanding over the last few weeks. I’m back and ready to kick butt again, and all of you truly make my life amazing. I can’t thank you enough.
So I’ve shared this little story not to only update you, but to show you I’m human too.
You are at some point going to lose your mind in life! Probably repeatedly! 🙂
Things go crazy in life even when you’ve got a great life and a great business. You just need “tools” to help you get through it. My tools are my son, my bike, and nature. Find the “tools” that help you to cope and there’s nothing you can’t get through. You must keep pressing on. 🙂
Okay so it’s official… I’m back in Chattanooga, TN and I’m loving life once again!
I look forward to continuing on our path to the success you WANT…
Today is the first day of a new journey I’ve begun. I’m completely changing my business to help my readers create multiple streams of passive income. 🙂
Well the exciting part is getting to $10,000 a month in passive income, is our FIRST goal!
Now THAT is exciting…
On this journey I’ll be getting rid of most of my brands and re-doing many of my products and coaching programs so that they only teach passive income methods and strategies.
For instance… I’m known in the industry as the “Queen of PLR“. I WILL still be doing PLR, but I’ll be getting rid of my InstantIncomePLR.com brand AND I’ll also be teaching how to create and sell your own PLR in a passive way.
That’s down the road a bit though…
The first brand I will be getting rid of is the Backpack Business Lifestyle Brand. Within this brand I have several coaching programs (I’ll still be supporting those), products, a Facebook group, and a blog.
I will be deleting the Facebook group for this brand, closing down the blog (I’ll take the best posts from this blog that are related to passive income and put them on my PassiveIncomeCoach.com blog), and re-doing all the products and coaching programs so they align with passive-income streams.
This was a hard decision to make because the building of this brand came at the biggest turning point of my life…
I went from being a wife of MANY years with a house full of kids to a divorced “girl child” (at the age of 34) who had never once been on her own in life.
To say I turned my life upside down is like the understatement of the year, but it was hands down the best thing that EVER happened to me.
I finally found out EXACTLY who I am, what I love, and most importantly I learned to LIVE!
Going through all of that though was soul shattering.
I turned to my work and began building the Backpack Business Lifestyle brand. My missions was (still is) to get healthy, happy, and wealthy and show other people how to do the same thing.
Getting my mind off my life with working on this was great, but I needed something more.
That’s when I randomly just picked something to do OUTSIDE of working to help me get healthy. I chose bike riding!
I had no idea at the time that with that decision would come the ultimate life therapy!
I researched forever to find the perfect bike, and found it. Of course it had to be purple because I have this weird thing about all of my “stuff” being purple. Blame it on my OCD. *lol*
I started out slow. I’d ride 3-4 miles, but within a few weeks I found myself literally craving longer bike rides.
I felt great after them and within a month saw HUGE health improvements.
The longer my rides, the more my mind would wander and I would think about life. The things I had done wrong and how with this “new life” of mine, what I could do differently.
Let me tell you… “Self analyzing” daily for 2-3 hours at a time 4-5 days a week is absolutely brutal. I’ve shed so many tears and had so many thoughts on my bike that if I even tried to explain you’d think I was a complete lunatic. 🙂
One day while riding, Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” started playing on Pandora and I thought to myself that’s what my bike was. My personal little crazy train, and from that day forward my bike became “Rails”.
I’ve put over 4,000 miles on Rails since the day I got “him“. 4000 miles of “soul sweat“, business ideas, tears, and more. If it hadn’t of been for this obsession the Backpack Business Lifestyle brand probably would have never been “born” and I would have missed out on so much.
The brand helped shape me into who I am as a person and helped MANY people start their own life changing online businesses.
Today as I rode I thought about the new MyPassiveIncomeCoach.com brand I’m building and got really excited because essentially we’re doing the same thing. We’re just giving ourselves so much more time to enjoy that money we will be making.
It’s been a great “ride” guys… Now it’s time to “up our game” and take on this new journey to reclaim our time, enjoy our lives, and make a ton of money while doing it all!
See you over at MyPassiveIncomeCoach.com
I just wanted to give a quick update on what’s going to be happening for the rest of this year…
As you may know I run three different online businesses to help you…
BackpackBusinessLifestyle.com is all about helping you find your perfect online business model and getting it up and going so you can be creating the lifestyle you WANT!
IMWithLiz.com is all about teaching you how to market your online business using Internet marketing tactics and strategies. This is for those of you who already have a business and want to know how to get more leads, more customers, make more money with it, etc.
InstantIncomePLR.com is all about providing you with PLR content and showing you how to use it in your online business to save time and/or make more-money!
I also have two weekly webinars that I do live each week!
The Backpack Business Lifestyle Webinar is a free webinar for anyone who currently does not have an online business. You can attend these webinars each week, learn about different online business models and get help with the online business model you’re working on!
You can register at no-cost at http://backpackbusinesslifestyle.com/sp/webinar-schedule
The other webinar I do is for my Team Tomey Inner Circle Coaching Club members. You get free access to this if you’ve ever bought anything from me. We have a Facebook group where you can get the webinar details and be part of our mastermind group there. Please use the help desk to get information on getting access to that. Just provide them with your PayPal email address so they can verify you’re a customer, and they will give you the information that you need.
Now the best way to get everything you ever wanted from me is to become a Backstage With Liz client. I only open this up 2-3 times a year and only let 10 people in at a time. You get so much with this, but most importantly two things…
1. Your very own online business that I setup for you and teach you to run!
2. Every product, service, content, etc I release for-free! The only exception is done for you services because I have to pay people to do those for you, but I will always give those to you at my cost.
It’s a no brainer of a deal because you can pay 1 price get a complete online business, 1 on 1 phone calls with me, all of my products for-free, and so much more!
I will be opening this again tomorrow at 9am Eastern. There will only be 10 spots, so you’re going to have to act quick!
And just an FYI… I have two coaching programs that will be coming out just this year alone that you’ll get free-access to and the regular price of JUST those two things (not counting everything else I’ll be releasing) is 4 times as much as what it will cost you to get into Backstage With Liz, so it truly is one heck of a deal.
You can take a sneak peek at the sales letter now (no one can get in until tomorrow at 9am) by going to http://www.BackstageWithLiz.com
You’ve now been updated. 🙂 If there’s anything I can do to help you with anything please let me know. You can use my support desk and if they can’t help you they will route you to me!
So 7 days after Irma beat the crap out of Florida, I’m officially back to work. I’m sitting out on the beach here looking at the blue water and watching the manatee and dolphin play. Glad to see those guys back. 🙂
But there are still many around me without power (I got mine back on Day 6) and some even further south of me without homes.
South of me in Naples, FL they’re really hurting, the Keys got destroyed, and several little tiny islands south east of me wont recover for a year or more. I’m truly blessed!
But I’m seriously far behind in work…
Before Irma hit I had a client in town for several days, then spent a few days getting ready for Irma, and then Irma hit, and then now power and the recovery process from it all has been crazy.
I’d like to thank every single person who sent emails in, text messages, Facebook messages, etc checking on me. I’m alive and I’m still here. I’m just really far behind so bear with me as I get caught up.
There are only two ways to get in touch with me… Via email (if you’re a coaching client) and my support desk. My support desk guy is in Florida too, so he’s also way behind.
If you have an email into me or my support desk we’re working hard to get to you!
Again thanks for all the amazing messages during this time. I love my people dearly. I know this is a business I run, but I’m also personally attached to my people, and all the kind messages and offers of help during this time have truly made me thankful for each and every single one of you.
On tonight’s FB Live I literally freaked myself out and ran like chicken little. 🙂 We also talked about fighting technology, and how to quit your job and go full time with an online business!
