I HATE SEO… But I LOVE This!

I don’t use the word hate very often. It was pounded in me as a kid that you’re not supposed to hate and you’re never supposed to say it, but…

SEO…

HATE IT!

The reason being is because it’s so volatile! I’ve personally (years ago) had tons of traffic just disappear with one Google update. I’ve had sooo many clients and friends have the same thing happen to them.

The biggest story that sticks out in my mind is a client I had who was a nurse, created several content sites, was making bank from them and then BOOM! One search engine update and all of her traffic was gone and so was her income.

Side note… She had just quit a killer nursing job a few months prior to the Google update that killer her traffic. 😲

I just absolutely refuse to participate in a traffic tactic that takes so much work and can just be gone over night.

Not only that, but people who create products to “help” people with their SEO tend to not be so helpful.

If I can be blunt… 90% of SEO products are crap.

So you can probably see why I say this so strongly…

What I focus on is creating killer content that can be used in multiple ways.

In emails, as blog posts that get me traffic, as social media posts that get me traffic, on 3rd party sites like Medium and LinkedIn, etc.

As much HATE as I have for SEO I have double that amount of LOVE for content marketing!

But let me tell you something that most people wont so bluntly tell you…

If you’re content isn’t AWESOME… Like people walk away with it feeling some kind of way… You are wasting your time!

There’s no way for me to sugar coat this for you!

You are wasting your time creating content that doesn’t make people either…

Wow = blow their mind with something impressive, shocking, or inspiring

LOL = make them laugh, entertain them, or be relatable

Aww = tug at emotions with something heartfelt, cute, or human

And now with everyone and their brother using AI, their content is NOT doing any of this!

AI creates generic content and no one is reading your generic AI generated content.

Does that mean you shouldn’t use AI?

Absolutely NOT!!!

AI used correctly can be the biggest time saver in the world, but you have to be able to use it correctly.
