I’m about to take off on a road trip which I normally LOVE doing to my birthplace… Indianapolis, IN.

Yep… I grew up in the great state and city of Chattanooga, TN, but Indianapolis is my birthplace and where ALL of my family lives.

After losing my mom it’s just me and the kiddo still here so its hard not having any family around, so I can’t wait to see everyone. Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and of course my beloved papaw who just celebrated his 86th birthday a few days ago.

I’m taking off to spend the weekend with family I haven’t seen in a very long time, but unfortunately it’s to celebrate my cousins life that he just lost.

This is the first cousin I have lost and this one hits hard because we actually lived together on and off when we were kids and then again even as adults. We were like brother and sister and I’m actually working on a children’s book about our cousin relationship as a memorial to him. ❤️

So while normally a road trip AND seeing my family would be something to really get me excited, today I head out with a heavy heart.
